Mary Oliver

Dream Work

Dream Work is a collection of forty-five poems that follow on from Mary Oliver’s American Primitive, which won her the Pulitzer Prize for poetry in 1983. The depth and diversity of perceptual awareness, qualities that radiate in American Primitive, are powerfully evident in Dream Work. In these poems Oliver explores solitariness, difficulties that confront the human spirit, and the capacity to rise above the failures of relationships. Mary Oliver died in 2019 at the age of 83.
