John Julius Norwich

The Ultimate Christmas Cracker: Introduction by Julian Fellowes

In 1969, the legendary popular historian John Julius Norwich (1929 – 2018), wrote a short pamphlet containing the favourite things he had come across during the 365 days of the year. It was initially written as a treat for his friends although it wasn’t long before it became a huge word of mouth success. Norwich not only knew how to tell a story, but he was also blessed with a good eye for detail, which is why his Crackers are always full of jokes, warmth, and wit. His final and 50th Christmas Cracker, alongside all the very best bits, were selected by his daughter Artemis Cooper.
