Behind the Butterfly Gate

Madame Pollack finally acknowledges the existence of her childhood apartment in Paris. The lasting memory she has of it is when she made a hurried, dramatic exit to the Rivera in 1945 with her mother. But time waits for no one, and Madame Pollack is desperate to not only revisit the apartment but to understand that area of her past. To help her search, she enlists the help of her new companion Tilly, a young English woman. Although Tilly is nursing her own secrets, a camaraderie and deep trust grows between the two women. After weeks of research and the recruitment of a handsome Parisian man, the hidden apartment is eventually located. What’s revealed is a home of aristocratic proportions…and where the truth of what took place in the final years of the Second World War is finally brought to light.
