David Gilmour

The Film Club

David Gilmour is an unemployed movie critic trying to get his teenage son Jesse to do his homework. When he realises he’s on a hiding to nothing, David offers his son an unconventional deal: Jesse can drop out of school, live rent free, and not get a job…but only if he agrees to watch three movies a week chosen by his dad! Week by week, movie by movie, father and son watch pretty much everything including Rosemary’s Baby and Showgirls, along with films by such legendary directors as Akira Kurosawa, Martin Scorsese, Brian DePalma, and Billy Wilder. After a while they start talking about music, work, drugs, friendships, and girlfriends, all of which changes their relationship for the better.
