Danny Boy

At the age of 21, Danny Crates lost his right arm in an horrific car crash. The bright, easy going, young man with an infectious sense of humour that made him a legend amongst his friends, slipped into a period of deep introspection as he learned to come to terms with his disability. Not one to be easily beaten, Danny found new ways to channel his irrepressible energy: after becoming the world’s only one-armed scuba diving instructor, he represented Great Britain in an athletics career spanning three Paralympic games, before embracing the role of an ambassador for the London 2012 bid. Danny Boy is his remarkable story.
