Wimbledon is upon us, hurray! I look forward to this event so much every year. The build up from the end of the clay season at Roland Garros, through the warmup grass court tournaments at Queen’s and Eastbourne, to two glorious weeks of tennis at Wimbledon.

I know I am not alone, although, I suspect, pretty much a minority, because this year I am even happier to know that Wimbledon will provide respite from the Euro football competition. In contrast to Wimbledon fortnight which will whiz by in a flash, the first two weeks of the Euros seem to have gone on forever. Anyway, this time of year I always think about a favourite book where tennis is the central theme.  Drop Shot by Harlen Coben is the second in a series featuring Myron Bolitar, sports agent, and his super cool partner Win.

Thinking ahead to “rain breaks in play” a couple of other titles that I might fit in are:

And okay, I’ve had my little rant, so by way of apology to all avid Euro followers – what about Fever Pitch by Nick Hornby as a classic for football fans everywhere.

Read2write.com has lots of other titles, so if you have already read my suggestions, or they don’t appeal, why not have a browse and score a great result for yourself!
