Sir Anthony Seldon is a former Master of Wellington College, one of Britain’s most famous and historic independent schools. Prior to this he was headmaster of Brighton College. Sir Anthony has written or edited over 40 books including the standard works on British Prime Ministers Sir John Major, Tony Blair and Gordon Brown. He is also the authorised historian of 10 Downing Street and has written about it extensively. Sir Anthony left Wellington College in 2015 to become Vice-Chancellor of the University of Buckingham, the only independent university in the UK with a Royal Charter. He is a Fellow of the Royal Historical Society and King's College London. With Professor Lord Peter Hennessy, he co-founded The Institute of Contemporary British History, which aims to promote research into and the study of British history since 1945. In 2014 Anthony Seldon was knighted in the Queen’s Birthday Honours list for services to education and modern political history.
