Raised as a boy in a large Nigerian family, Otolorin Akinro escapes to boarding school certain of two things: that she’s truly a girl who must keep that knowledge a secret to stay safe. Away from the cruelty of her family, Oto blooms even as she tries to be the best boy she can. She finds true friendships and works hard for a scholarship to an American university, hoping that one day somebody out there will be able to explain the secrets within her body.
