“If you like confusing creepy tales that feel like a fever dream, you’ll love this one. It’s short, compelling, and absolutely unique.”

Fever Dream is a short little novella that had me by the throat the whole time I was reading it. You could not be able to make me put it down until I finished. The whole setup was so confusing, yet so compelling, I simply had to know what’s going on.

The title is apt – the whole thing is like a fever dream because you don’t know what’s going on. It’s definitely one of the most unique stories I have read, and that’s saying a lot. There are so many creepy elements to this story. I actually didn’t know it was horror until I was in the middle of it and slowly beginning to understand – and not understand – what was happening.

The only problem with this is that it doesn’t fully answer your questions. Listen, I don’t always have to know everything, sometimes I’m okay with vagueness or open endings… but to be honest, I just expected some kind of big twist at the end that I didn’t get. That’s the only reason why this is a 4 star read and not a 5 star read.

Overall, I enjoyed this twisty creepy tale and its uniqueness… I expected more from it, but we don’t always get what we want. Who knows, maybe you’ll like it better. If you like confusing creepy tales that feel like a fever dream, you’ll love this one. It’s short, compelling, and absolutely unique.
