Being non-binary can change everything. When Ben De Backer comes out as non-binary, everything goes wrong. They are thrown out of their house and forced to move in with their older sister. “This is such a gentle and sweet story about a non-binary teen finding themself and their voice. It’s also an important book to the many of us who don’t have main characters to relate to. The book is happy and sad at turns, but above all, it’s a celebration of life, love, and friendship. Sometimes adversity leads to happiness, and this is the prime example.”
