In the Mind’s Eye: The Blinded Veterans of St Dunstan’s

Since 1915 St Dunstan’s charity has helped war blinded veterans rejoin society. Author David Castleton has researched its archives to uncover the many untold stories of the men and women involved in the charity during the First and Second World Wars. Early St Dunstaners played football against Arsenal, learned to read braille, type, row and even shoot. Some went on to train for careers as masseurs, carpenters, switchboard operators and gardeners.
