Twelve year old Adam Ryan goes playing in the woods with his two best friends. He never sees them again. Adam is found with his back pressed against an oak tree, his shoes filled with blood. He had no memory of what had happened and the boys’ bodies are never found. Twenty years later, Rob Ryan – the one who came back – is a detective in the Dublin police force.
