Mother’s Day

July 1948. As Britain recovers from WWII, Annie Royal has her eyes firmly set on the future. Recently married to Henry and with a baby on the way, she and her new husband are living happily in the seaside town of Worthing. But Annie’s world is brought crashing down by a knock at the door. On her doorstep she finds Sarah and her two young children and as the women talk, Sarah reveals that she is Henry’s wife and she’s been searching for him since he walked out on their family a year ago. Initially Annie can’t believe what she’s hearing, but she’s forced to accept the truth when Henry is arrested for bigamy. Alone and with a baby due, Annie must look to the most unlikely of places to find support in her darkest hour.
