Pride and Prejudice

If you’ve never heard of the Bennet sisters of Pride & Prejudice fame, then here’s a quick intro. Kind-hearted Jane is the eldest,  followed by quick witted, intelligent Elizabeth (the heroine of the story), there’s Mary the bookworm, ignorant, lazy Catherine, and Lydia, the baby of the tribe who’s also self-absorbed and irritatingly immature. At the heart of the novel is the relationship between Elizabeth and good-looking, aristocrat Fitzwilliam Darcy whose aloofness is initially mistaken for pride. Feelings gradually blossom as the protagonists first misjudge and then challenge each other, before falling in love and (it’s assumed) living happily ever after. Ahh!
