Salem’s Lot

Salem’s Lot is a small New England town with the usual quota of gossips, drinks, freaks and respectable people. Of course there are tales of strange occurrences, but not more than in any other small town. Ben Mears, a writer, returns to the Lot to write a novel based on his childhood years, and to exorcise the demons that have haunted him since. The event he witnessed in the house, now rented by a new resident, who has a strange allure and causes Ben some unease as things start to happen: a child disappears, a dog is killed – nothing unusual, except the occurrences continue to pile up, and the dread begins to suffocate the man, and the town.

“The words Horror and Stephen King are synonymous. One of the most brilliant horror writers of modern times, Salem’s Lot is a testimony to King’s brilliance as a storyteller who knows how to creep out his audience. His writing draws the reader into the narrative fabric while teasing them with the possibility that what is unholy and unreal could happen in any town….even the one where you live.”
