QUEER MURDER MYSTERY THRILLER

Gabriel is the Sheriff in small town Prophet. Something terrible happened when he was working undercover in LA, so he went back to the town he grew up in. The town and the family he left.

Tiber is an animal whisperer, an empath who can feel what animals are feeling. So when there’s a shocking murder case in the small town he moved to recently, the Sheriff reaches out to him, because the only witness to the crime is the victim’s dog, Duke.

This book was an amazing read! Truly, I enjoyed the murder mystery a lot, as there were a lot of twists and turns. I especially loved Tiber and his animals, as I am also a big animal lover, and I truly think the authors did good with him. Gabriel was also compassionate and relatable as a character. Both men were broken and lovely in different ways, and their professional relationship was enjoyable to read – obviously, both men want more, but Tiber has been hurt badly, so he can’t let it happen.

Solstice isn’t just extremely well written, a well spun story with a lot of interesting characters and unexpected twists and suspects, but it’s also a story of real people who are a bit broken and battered, but who still hope and love every single day. Just reading about these people and seeing their growth, not to mention, Duke’s journey, I have to admit… I cried toward the end.

I’ll definitely read the next book, as I suspect a lot more will happen then between the men, and there will be a whole new murder to figure out.

I recommend this to anyone who loves hurt comfort, murder mysteries, and animals.
