In November 1605, a soldier named Guy Fawkes was discovered in the vaults of the Houses of Parliament surrounded by 36 barrels of gunpowder. He was part of a plot to murder James 1, King of England. This book traces the infamous beginnings of what history knows as the Gunpowder Plot, all the way through to its grisly end when Fawkes and his accomplices were executed for the crime of treason. Specially written for children growing in confidence with their reading skills, Rob Lloyd Jones’ book is also illustrated by artist Daniele Dickman.
