The Lost Daughter

Leda is an English teacher and has two children. When the girls leave home to be with their father in Canada, Leda imagines a period of loneliness to follow. Instead, she feels liberated. So she goes on a holiday, in a small town by the sea, in South Italy. After a few days of peace and quiet, things take a dark turn. Leda encounters an unsettlingly brash family, and the following events lead Leda to look back on the choices she made as a mother and how they impacted herself and her family.

“What starts as a peaceful contemplation on motherhood quickly turns into something dark and complex. A truly strange and insightful examination of life after one’s children move away.”
