The Sea

Max Morden is an art historian, who returns to the seaside village he remembers from a childhood holiday. He is escaping a recent loss and confronting a distant trauma. The Grace family is there again, Mr and Mrs Grace, with their worldly ease and candour, unlike any adults he knew, like they were from another world. But it was his peers, the twins Myles and Chloe, who most fascinated Max. He grew to know them intimately, and what ensued would haunt him for the rest of his life.
