A KIND OF MAGIC

An evil wizard, an ancient sisterhood of witches, and a cursed Anglo-Saxon Prince who rips out the hearts of young lovers – how are they connected to 21st century teenager Meredith Cooper? Haunted by the recurring dream of a handsome blond-haired boy with eyes so “cold and full of cruelty”, sixteen-year-old Meredith must use her extraordinary heritage to destroy the sorcerer Gwydion and his curse. That means re-learning the witchcraft she has inherited from her mother and grandmother – unfortunately Meredith doubts her ability to do this. Can she find a way through the problem, or is she beyond hope?

Set in the fictitious town of Tillingham (loosely based on the real-life Surrey town of Farnham), The Witches Kiss is the first book in a trilogy by sisters Katherine and Elizabeth Corr. Fusing Anglo Saxon myth with elements of the Sleeping Beauty fairy tale, the Corrs have produced an enjoyable and highly imaginative fantasy novel that will appeal to adults and teenagers.
