HURT OMEGA FINDS HIS ALPHA

This omegaverse hurt comfort book was so well written and so heart-breaking, I was hooked on the story from start to finish.

It’s about Silas, an omega who has spent the last seven years on hormone blockers, and now they’re wearing off, he’s being trafficked to a criminal pack and being forced to bond. Bear is the other protagonist, an alpha who has cloistered himself in a cabin in the mountains after having failed to assimilate into pack life, so he prefers to be alone. When he finds an injured beta (Silas can still somewhat hide the fact he’s actually an omega) on the road, Bear can’t turn his back and leave the guy to die, so he helps him out and gives him shelter for three days. Then the two men start to get to know each other and share their stories, and the more Bear learns about Silas’s life, the less he can let go of the omega.

It’s such a slow burn and angst-filled book with a lot of action, twists, and relationship development, I was completely immersed in their story. Nothing was glossed over, everything was splayed open for the reader to digest, and it was painful at times, but also addictive to read. The characters were fleshed out and I really loved how strong Silas was. Rather than a meek omega, he’s a survivor who will do anything to keep moving, but no longer enslaved by anyone. Never again. It was also very interesting to learn about the medical side of this shifter world and other small worldbuilding tidbits I enjoyed.

I haven’t read this author before, but I am hooked now. The writing is spectacular and like I said, we are really immersed into the two characters’ psychology. Even though the omegaverse world is not exactly realistic, the writing makes it so.
