Agnes Meadows has toured nationally and internationally, giving readings, workshops and residencies, most recently at the Dhaka International Poetry Festival, Bangladesh, where she gained a Literary Award for her contribution to poetry. She was Guest Poet at the Austin International Poetry Festival, Texas, for 10 consecutive years, twice winning awards for Outstanding Writing, and read three times at the Babylon International Festival of Arts & Culture in Iraq. She also guest edited the Spring-Summer 2020 edition of the Atlanta Review, recognised as one of the world’s leading journals of poetry, focusing on work from poets living in or coming from Cornwall and Wales. Agnes has written seven collections of poetry, three with Flipped Eye/Waterways, a dual English-Chinese collection ‘The Light On The Wall’ (Morgan’s Eye Press), from which she read at the 2017 Formosa International Poetry Festival in Taiwan, and ‘Back to Babylon’ (Palewell Press – 2019) based on her visits to Iraq. She ran Loose Muse Women’s Writers Night in London from 2004-2020, with regular satellite events elsewhere in England, and has also advised Channel 4 Television on poetry.
