Death of Mr Dodsley: A London Bibliomystery

Richard Dodsley, owner of a second bookshop on London’s Charing Cross Road, is found shot dead in the early hours of the morning. There are hardly any clues at the crime scene apart from three cigarette ends, two used matches, and several books  rearranged on shelves. In an investigation covering London’s second-hand bookshops and the Houses of Parliament (an MP’s  new crime novel – Death at the Desk – could have some bearing on the case), officers from Scotland Yard soon find a suspect. However, when private detective Francis MacNab is hired to prove the innocence of the accused, he realises that nothing is as straightforward as it might seem.
